TITAN HAND AUGER
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

The Titan Hand Auger System is a state-of-the-art, high-performance tool, made of modern aerospace materials. Titanium provides super strength, durability and resistance to corrosion.

Handle and Extensions: .051" wall thickness, seamless CWSR 1" OD ASTM Ti Grade 9 Titanium tubing. The Grade 9 alloy consists of Ti-3Al-2.5V. Cold working of the Ti increases the strength (work hardens) the material, producing a minimum UTS of approximately 125 ksi and a minimum Yield Strength is approximately 105 ksi.

2' extensions with quick-release bayonet couplings. 2' lengths are portable and ergonomically designed to place the auger handle at the optimum position for efficient drilling. Custom lengths can be provided on special order. Extensions marked every 6" for ease of use.

Toothed cutting rings and helical augers are custom machined of 416 Stainless steel and heat-treated for maximum hardness. The parts are quenched and tempered for durability in a vacuum, and achieve a final hardness of approximately 40 - 42 HRC

Titanium Hand Auger Systems

Made in the USA.
I have utilized the services of eight companies in the greater Willamette Valley of Oregon to produce this tool.

Titanium's beneficial properties include low modulus of elasticity, stable and steadfast oxide film (providing high corrosion and erosion resistance), and high strength to density ratio. The density of Titanium is approximately 60 percent of steel alloys, with the strength of some alloys as much as five times greater than steel.
